Update 3/9/15

Guys, I actually have a post ready! Can you believe it? Neither can I. Now I actually have a lot planned for this update but I was preemptive when I had been planning this back in January. This week we are highlighting one of my favorite Japanese Voice Actors. PLUS we will be reviewing a favorite movie of mine. I know you're probably angry with me about the last couple weeks but I have been trying really hard. So hang in there and eventually I will have my schedule back in check.

So I totally wrote the beginning of this thinking that I wouldn't be 100% exhausted after I got home from work on Sunday...now I am posting this Monday night because I was procrastinating. Hope you enjoy it and hope I can actually get a post up on time at some point.
Let's get this started.

Movie Review: Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie

When I originally watched this movie, I found it hard to bear because of the feeling of anxiety I got in correlation with Naruto’s feelings. However now that I have watched it again after having finished the manga series. It is nearly unbearable to watch. So many characters that you see that are now gone in the series. It’s very difficult.

This movie deals a lot with Naruto’s desire for acceptance and love. How much he wishes Minato and Kushina were still alive. How much he wishes to have even so much as a parental figure. With Jiraiya gone, he really has no one anymore.

After a fight with Iruka about being promoted to Jonin and menma, Naruto runs off only to bump into Sakura who is running away from a fight with her parents. In a playground Sakura complains about her parents and how she wishes they didn’t exist. Naruto who had been biting his tongue through her rant had enough and said that she shouldn’t say stuff like that. She then snapped at him saying that Sasuke would understand. Just then a band appears around Naruto’s ankle and Madara appears before the two. After a scuffle between the three, Naruto and Sakura notice that Madara has disappeared. They run off to tell their friends…only to notice that everyone is acting different and Naruto’s name is Menma.

The first half of the movie is the rough part to watch, however after Naruto realizes that the Minato and Kushina of this fake world are what he hoped for in a sense…the movie takes on a sadder feel. The emotions run extremely high in this film and so do yours. You feel so much with Naruto as the movie pulls at your heartstrings.

Synopsis by VizMedia from the back of the DVD release of Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie: “Long ago, a mysterious masked shin obi unleaded the Nine-Tailed Fox onto the Village Hidden in the Leaves to spread chaos and destruction. But the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and his wife, Kushina Uzumaki, sealed the Tailed Beast into their unborn son Naruto to save the village, telling the shinobi’s plan. Years later, Naruto and his friends succeed in driving away the infamous Akatsuki, who have mysteriously returned from the dead. Upon returning to the village, the young shin obi are praised by their families for completing a dangerous mission. Reminded of how alone he is, Naruto begins to wonder what it’s like to have parents, when a strange masked figure appears before him - the same masked shinobi responsible for the death of his parents!”

I actually give this movie a 8/10 just purely for how uncomfortable I feel watching it.
