Three Year Anniversary: KAC Forever?

Hey guys! I can't believe it! I've been doing this for 3 years! I know that I have been a bit flaky lately but I love this blog. I wish I could work on it full time but I don't make money doing this and money is necessary for living. So just think, I have been blogging for 3 years reviewing shows and manga but not making money doing this. That's dedication. LOL. Nah, I just really really like to write and I find it very relaxing. I'm sorry though that I haven't been posting as much lately. 2016 has been a tough year for a lot of people but I find that it has been really hard on me mentally. At the beginning of the year I was still recovering from a rough loss at the end of 2015, so it was already a rough start. Plus I took a 2 week vacation that included no internet access in May. Right after I got back from vacation work started to turn shitty for me and I literally felt like I was falling apart. I wound up leaving that job in August for a new job that has been much better on me mentally. Now here we are in December and I am facing some internal struggles that I haven't opened up to anyone about and I don't plan on it anytime soon. But you didn't come here to hear about me, you came to hear about KAC.

So I did a lot of research on Kat's Anime Corner to see what my favorite posts were as well as what I could find on the internet about KAC in general. And I came across something really cool. Remember back when I did my recommendations of my favorite fan fictions? No? You can read it here. Well when I was looking up stuff about KAC I found an Instagram post from one of those authors that I recommended! I asked if I could use their post in this and they said yes. I was so happy too because they wrote one of my favorite Fairy Tail fan fiction series.


Now before I start talking about my favorite blog posts, let me cover the top 10 most popular blog posts on Kat's Anime Corner.

1. Update 3/24/14 part 2

This post is one of my first spoiler filled reviews. It is for the movie Naruto Shippuden Blood Prison which is my favorite Naruto movie. So only click the link if you want to be spoiled. 



2. Update 3/22/15

Ah, this was a fun one. It was my post about my top 10 anime couples and my top 10 yaoi couples! Plus I also added in my top 10 love songs. I really miss doing top 10s. 


3. Update 6/14/15

Oooh, this was the blog post that I made a BTS video for! And by BTS in this case I mean Behind The Scenes. Lol. Anyway, I covered a lot about vampires in this post. Vampires are kind of my thing. 



4. Update 2/22/14

Speaking of vampires, how about my review of the popular series Dance in the Vampire Bund. This is by far one of my favorite series. I love Monica Rial and Eric Vale so very much. They are perfect together. 


5. Update 12/21/14

Oh man do I remember writing this blog. It was funny. I don't think anyone realized it but I was recording a behind the scenes video for my Vampire Knight post while I was writing my Black Cat review and accidentally spoiled my Black Cat Review's Character of the Week and several others. But no one noticed. Lol. 



6. Update 4/20/14

This was my favorite review to write because D. Gray-Man will always hold a special place in my heart and so will Brother X Brother. While they are two very different genres, especially since BXB is a yaoi series...I love them equally. 


7. Update 3/30/14

This was the year I first bought my Crunchyroll mystery bag! I shared my anime haul from that time and then went on to review Strike the Blood. 


8. Update 1/13/16

I am not surprised that this review made the list of top 10. It was actually a post where I shared that I do actually have friends outside of my cousin and my best friend lol. My Kuroko no Basuek review was so well received that I will never regret a thing. Also thanks to KnB1 for letting me use you as a reference for my Akashi figurine. You rock and I totally miss talking to you! 


9. Update 3/23/14 part 1

What did I not gush over in this blog post? Everything from Sailor Moon to Sword Art Online to Terri Doty to Tokyo Ravens to Todd Haberkorn you name it, it was probably featured in this short blog post that played part 1 to the Naruto Shippuden Blood Prison part 2. 


10. Update 4/29/15

Again, a blog post that was featured in a video. My top 25 hottest males in anime list has changed significantly since I originally wrote it as you saw that I had redone it for my new top whatever list. And it will keep changing. I wonder if I should do a top 25 hottest guys in k-pop...hmm...



Overall what is your favorite post? What's funny is that not a single one of these is my favorite post. Now, these are some of my favorite posts that I have written over the last 3 years. Most of them are pretty recent because they are more fresh in my mind but they were also the more challenging posts in different ways. I think as a writer I have changed my style over time to reflect my own aging in life. For one, I am actually swearing in my blog posts now. I honestly couldn't give a fuck about anything in regards to that. I just want to write something others want to read. So let's recap my favorite posts. 


This was my first voice actor spotlight. It is by far my best one too. I think I took the most time to research and write. I had so much fun writing it though because Monica is one of my favorite people ever! A close runner up would be Clifford Chapin or Terri Doty. A cool thing about this particular VA Spotlight was that Monica read it and said it was good! It is always cool to be complimented so you know you've done a good job. 


Still to this day, this is one of my more popular and favorite posts. It is one that pops up on Google all the time. I decided to write a large review on one of my favorite shows. It took me over a month to write and I posted it on my birthday. Now some really cool facts about this review...I got some "favorite moment" comments from two of the lead actors Monica Rial and Clifford Chapin that I was able to use in the post. Also, Clifford read the review from beginning to end. I only know this because he tweeted about it comment on a small thing I said at the end about thinking he is cute and me hating tomatoes. 


My favorite post! We both thought this would take us weeks to write but in reality it only took like a day to do. This all started when I was tweeting about cool things I wanted to do for KAC and Terri responded! We emailed back and forth all day. It was an amazing experience and if you haven't read the interview you definitely should. Terri is an amazing person and she has such amazing things to say. 

4. Korean Break

This is the newest of all the posts that are my favorites and by far the most popular series I have ever done on KAC. This was a post series that was significantly longer than was originally planned and it may even come back for a season 2! It was only supposed to be 2 or 3 posts but turned into 8 long posts. I got to share my love for k-pop and I am considering bringing it back at a later date. It was fun because I was researching the group members and their songs. I did the posts on my favorite groups CNBLUE, BTS, GOT7, 2NE1, NU'EST, and BIGBANG. I covered a lot and there is definitely still so much more to share but I had a lot of fun while I was doing it.
