Top 20 Favorite Anime Opening Credits

Hey guys! It has been a while, like a long while. Work and life has been crazy, when I have any free time I am trying to do something anime related. Depression has also reared its ugly head and I've been buried for a while. But...welcome back to KAC and another opening credits post...yeah I know it's weird that I've done like two in a row, but still, after the top 20 anime post I decided that I wanted to share my top 20 favorite OP of all-time. Now, you will get some crossover because duh they are my favorites, but there may be some that surprise you - especially for the ones that I haven't actually finished watching yet lol. (Note: when I originally started writing this post MONTHS ago, I had two songs on the list that are no longer on the list...soooo enjoy.)

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming, I had a hard time selecting openings because I wanted them all. I literally was freaking out. And don't even get me started on putting this list in order cause that was painful. Without further ado, let's get into it. 

1. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood OP 1 "Again" by Yui

This one should be pretty obvious. The first OP in the reboot of a popular shonen series, you kind of expect a banger. Yui has such an enchanting voice and I will never stop loving this song. 

2. D.Gray-man OP 3 "Doubt&Trust" by Access

If you have been a fan of KAC for long enough, you should have expected this to be here. The third OP from one of my favorite shows, if this song didn't exist, Gekidou by UVERworld would have been on here. 

3. Fairy Tail OP 21 "Believe in Myself" by Edge of Life

This was the hardest to choose from because 1) Fairy Tail is my favorite anime of all time and 2) have you seen the number of OPs this show has?? But Believe In Myself has been a favorite since the beginning plus it is part of the Tartaros arc which cause so much heartache and is the start of our final journey in the series. *fun fact: this song is actually one of my alarm tones 

4. Attack on Titan OP 3 "Shinzou wo Sasageyo!/Opfert eure Herzen!" by Linked Horizon

I really really really love this song. Anything by Linked Horizon is amazing. Sasageyo owned my heart the second I heard it. 

5. Yuri on Ice OP "History Maker" by Dean Fujioka

If you ever need to get hyped and ready to do anything, History Maker is here for that. Plus this show is just *chef's kiss*

6. Bleach OP 10 "Shojo S" by Scandal

If you didn't know, Scandal is one of my favorite Japanese groups. You wouldn't know that because I never finished writing that blog post...oops. lol Shojo S is the Scandal song from Bleach I have decided to pick because there are two songs Scandal does for the anime, but Shojo S wins in my book. 

7. Naruto Shippuden OP 1 "Hero's Come Back!!" by nobodyknows+

No one talks about this song! Why does no one talk about this song? I only ever hear people talk about Blue Bird or some of the later OPs but no one ever talks about the original OP that started Shippuden. Such a shame because it really is a Hero's Come Back. 

8. My Hero Academia OP 2 "Peace Sign" by Kenshi Yonezu

I don't talk about My Hero enough on here because I feel like every other social media platform is all about MHA lol but Peace Sign is the OP of the Sports Festival arc. Which is one of my favorites because SHOTO TODOROKI. 

9. SK8 the Infinity OP "Paradise" by Rude- (Rude alpha)

I am Sk8 Trash and this song is a fucking bop. *mic drop*

10. Neon Genesis Evangelion OP "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" by Yoko Takahashi

Okay, something y'all don't know about me, I love Neon Genesis Evangelion. I have two favorite characters and one of them gets hate. I don't really talk about it a lot. Plus who doesn't bust out singing when this song comes on. 

11. Haikyuu OP 1 "Imagination" by SPYAIR

I KNOW THAT ALL OF HAIKYUU'S OPs ARE BOPS AND THAT FLY HIGH IS A FUCKING KING OF A SONG BUT DON'T FORGET THE ORIGINAL KING. Phew. Sorry, I just feel like Imagination gets forgotten a lot as the first OP and the fact that whenever someone thinks of Haikyuu Fly High is what they think of first. 

12. Black Clover OP 10 "Black Catcher" by Vickeblanca

Fun Fact: I have never seen this anime. The song came on my Spotify (I listen to a lot of Japanese songs), I thought it was fucking awesome, I downloaded the song, looked it up and found out it was Black Clover's OP. I really need to watch Black Clover, but I wanted to pick up the manga again before I touch the anime (I stopped reading it when I quit reading Shonen Jump religiously back in like 2015/2016 when Bleach and Naruto ended)

13. Tokyo Ghoul OP 1 "Unravel" by TK of Ling tosite sigure

I mean, even if the whole anime series butchered the manga, we got this bop from Ling tosite sigure's singer TK and I couldn't have asked for more. If it wasn't for Unravel, Ling tosite sigure's songs from Psycho Pass would be on here. 

14. Blast of Tempest OP 1 "Spirit Inspiration" by Nothing's Carved in Stone

I love this OP and this anime. I need more people to talk about this anime with. Why has no one I know seen this anime? 

15. Given OP "Kizuato" by Centimilimental 

Not only is this a musical anime but the OP fucking hit it out of the part. I downloaded it as SOON as I could. 

16. Blue Exorcist OP 1 "Core Pride" by UVERworld

UVERworld is my favorite Japanese band, I'm sure you've figured it out after all these years of me talking about it. Plus you know I adore Blue Exorcist. This OP is 1) very fitting and 2) a repeat worthy song. 

17. Sword Art Online OP 3 "Ignite" by Eir Aoi

I KNEW AS SOON AS THIS SONG DROPPED THAT IT WAS GONNA BE MY FAVORITE. Even after all theses years. Gun Gale Online arc is still one of my favorite arcs as well. 

18. Guilty Crown OP 2 "The Everlasting Guilty Crown" by Egoist

It's been so long since I've ever mentioned Guilty Crown...I don't even remember if y'all would remember my love-hate relationship this show. I have like 5 episodes left of this show...and I cannot finish it. BUT the music is excellent. And this OP is one of my favorites. 

19. Moriarty the Patriot OP 1 "Dying Wish" by Tasuku Hatanaka

So, this is a new addition. I have yet to discuss this show on here, but if you listen to Shi Anime Podcast you'll know we are all obsessed with Moriarty the Patriot - anything Sherlock Holmes is fucking amazing plus this is all of them being HOT. lol but this is sung by a member of Wagakki Band. He also sings the second OP which is just as much of a bop. 

20. Fruits Basket OP 5 "Pleasure" by WARPs UP

Yet another new addition, but this fifth and final OP for the Fruits Basket reboot series is everything to me. It's a j-pop song that goes hard and paired with the OP images and the fact that I have cried watching every single episode so far....it's a great song. 

I'm certain that as the years go on, this list will continue to change, but for now this is fitting and perfect. Again, I'm sorry that this took so long to put out but I have been very busy and I know that isn't an excuse when I promised to work hard to at least put out a post a month, but yeah, that's all I've got for you now.
