Update 8/24/14

Hey guys! It certainly has been a tough week. I had midterms exams to study for and boy was it a lot. I'm doing really good in school right now, which helps me out when I stick to a strict schedule for my blog. I won't get into that though because I actually have a blog planned at the end of September that is all about time management. So I guess what I am really trying to get at is...August has been a busy month for me. Stressful too. I am actually going to be busy next Sunday too. I am going to the State Fair. Super excited! My little sister and I are going to hit up all the anime booths we can. Eek. I'll show any goodies I get in my recap post.

Moving on...

So as promised previously I am going to discuss what I am watching for this Summer 2014 Anime Season. It is probably my smallest list in a while. However it is my most diverse.

Like I said, very diverse. Akame ga Kill and Tokyo ESP are darker anime. DRAMAtical Murder and Love Stage!! are yaoi anime. Fairy Tail and Naruto Shippuden are continuing anime. Sword Art Online and The Irregular at Magic High School are newer continuing anime. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun is a comedy. Bladedance of Elementalers is kind of my replacement for Spring's Dragonar Academy. Then you have GLASSLIP which is a slice-of-life show and Sailor Moon Crystal which is a reboot. So much variety. Though last week I was screaming watching Akame ga Kill. *shudders* it was gross. Though by the time you are reading this the newest episode is already out and I am probably enthralled in it.

So as a sort of middle ground between this subject and my next subject, I am going to announce my top 10 Summer Openings. Let's see if you agree or not.

This was super hard to do. I have never strained my brain so much. Plus I am not 100% satisfied. If I was really going to do this list right, I would watch the openings for EVERY anime I have ever watched and then objectively after a long pro/con make a true top ten. (I would also probably include Bleach and Naruto OP's too) I just don’t have the time for this. Since that is the case...here are some "honorable mentions"...in other words more of my tops.

I'm so cruel to myself.

Nike-hime/Princess Nike

from The World is Still Beautiful.

This crazy princess drastically changes the dry world of the Sun Kingdom when she moves in to marry their king.

Nike is a rain summoner. She can call the rain through singing. Her emotions control the rain. Livi can actually tell her mood by the feeling of the rain.

She is a simple girl and a rather poor princess. She is also a fierce woman who easily loses her temper.

While she is a princess and wears a lot of beautiful clothing, she tends to only wear one pink dress...all the time.

As for her relationship with Livius. Despite rocky times, the two are madly in love.

I so hope there will be a second season.
