Update 8/3/14 Part One

And we now return to your regularly scheduled program....

Haha, I have always wanted to say that. So I was impressed. Last week everyone seemed to read my birthday update like any regular update. I know what you're thinking, "Kat...it was a regular update". Well it was special to me...*sniffles* Okay, but really I was impressed and felt so loved. You guys rocked it by getting the update at over 100 views. So thank you.

Side note: Fans of HunterxHunter it is now available for streaming on Netflix!

Now...

Holy crap! It is already August! As I write this I am watching Naruto Blood Prison (and I mean as I physically hand-write this part out and not type it like I will later in the week) for the millionth time. I have a strange obsession with it though you probably already knew that from my review of it.

So many cool things have happened in July. That is why I shall now recap my month! (Okay being honest I was going to recap it whether it was a good month or not)

July marked the beginning of the Summer Anime Season. So many great shows. I pretty much have my list set of shows that I will be watching from this season (mind you if I get too busy with school I may have to cut some and finish them in the future...).

Akame ga Kill [Crunchyroll]
Bladedance of Elementalers [Crunchyroll]
DRAMAtical Murder [Crunchyroll]
Fairy Tail [Crunchyroll]
GLASSLIP [Crunchyroll]
Love Stage!! [Crunchyroll]
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun [Crunchyroll]
Naruto Shippuden [Crunchyroll]
Sailor Moon Crystal [Crunchyroll]
Sword Art Online [Crunchyroll]
The Irregular at Magic High School [Crunchyroll]
Tokyo ESP [Funimation]

Though I'll discuss that further in my What I'm Watching update which will be later this month I believe.

So I finally got my hands on some manga this month.

Digital Manga:

Bleach vol 32
Bleach vol 33
Bleach vol 34
Demon Love Spell vol 6 (final volume)
Naruto vol 66
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 1
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 2
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 3
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 4
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 5
Rosario + Vampire vol 1

Physical Manga:

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 16
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 17
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 18
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 19
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 20
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan vol 21

Then I also bought Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower, as well as pre-ordered Seraph vol 2 (should arrive this month) and Vampire Knight vol 19 Limited Edition (should arrive in October).

And finally I got around to getting an Elite Subscription to FUNimation. (yep I can now watch anime on my iPad and my xbox in either Japanese or English)

Other things I got:

On iTunes:

Fairy Tail ep. 121
The Devil is a Part-Timer ep. 1
Junjou Romantica ep. 1

FUN FACT: I made my best friend watch the first episode of Junjou Romantica and she laughed her ass of then decided she needed to dive back into the yaoi world. The downside to this story...she said I was a monster when it came to anime. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

One last item that I purchased in the month of July. At Hottopic if you are a HT+1 member you get birthday discounts. Well thanks to that I was able to get my hands on a Sword Art Online black t-shirt feature Kirito and Asuna in Aincrad.

Yeah...I spent a lot of money this month. Don't judge me. There were a lot of good deals, you just have to know where to look for them. BOGO 50% sales. Buy two get the third free sales. $2 off sales. $0.99 sales. Oh yeah. Just look around and you will find it.

Okay so another thing I did was watch a Todd Haberkorn and Alexis Tipton panel on Youtube. Oh my Lord was it funnier than hell. Those two are hilarious. So anyway, I tweeted about it mentioning Alexis Tipton as Tiptop (if you don't get that clearly I haven't sold you on That Anime Show). She Favorited it.

Day made. This is proof that if you don't think they read your tweets, they totally do they just don't always reply. They are really busy people.

What was your favorite part of July? Did you buy any anime related items? What are you looking forward to in August?

You are probably now thinking oh man what does she have in store for us! Well my next item on the list is a movie review. You know me though when I like to talk movies I want to do a spoiler filled review. So unfortunately you will have to look for Part 2 of this blog update which will be a movie review for Bleach the Movie: Hell Verse. But wait! Don't leave this blog yet! I still have a lot more to tell you about.

Now each week I post a picture on Intsagram and Tumblr asking you to guess which anime character I will be using for my Character of the Week. This week I chose a good one. He is a well loved character by many and well hated by others.

This week for Character of the Week I have selected:

Jellal Fernandes

from Fairy Tail.

Jellal is the bad guy in the Tower of Heaven Arc of the series. He was Erza's childhood friend who was possessed by "Zeref". Shit...it is so hard to talk about him. Just look.

See? Any way. It is really hard to talk about him because he pops up every now and then but isn't a concrete character like the others as he is on the run 90% of the time. Plus if I were to discuss some of the newer elements well...I'd be spoiling it for those who strictly watch the English dub or aren't caught up on the Japanese dub.

As far as his powers go, he is really powerful. He was so powerful that he infiltrated the Magic Council and gained a spot in the Ten Wizard Saints as an astral projection of himself. So he is not weak by any means...though he does get his ass handed to him by a supercharged Natsu.

He was an instant favorite of mine not only because he is gorgeous to look at but because I love his voice (I won't go into it again, just read my Fairy Tail review).

Not the character you wanted to see? Let me know on either Instagram (@vamp1929), Twitter (@katrina_meade), Facebook (Kat's Anime Corner), or Tumblr (@vamp1929) who you want to see as Character of the Week and I will get them up.

Okay so before I call it quits and start to discuss the new chapters of Naruto and Bleach, I wanted to share some things with you.

I am sure you remember (or don't remember) me mentioning that I was OBSESSED with the ending of Bleach entitled "Sakurabito".

Yeah so I am still obsessed with it. I was watching the Bleach DVD Set Seventeen and this happens to be the ending for that season. Oh man... However that isn't the point here. I found a new set of endings that I am obsessed with.

The first is obviously from Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison and the second is the ending for the movie Naruto Shippuden the Movie: The Lost Tower. I am in love with them both. Just thought I would share this all with you.

And now I say farewell to those of you who don't read the spoiler parts of my chapter reviews and welcome to those who do. Last reminder don't forget to check out my Bleach Hell Verse review which is part two of this blog.

SPOILER ALERT - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK - SPOILER ALERT

Naruto

Guys. These last two chapters. OH MY! Can you believe it?? Obito sacrificed himself for Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi??? Damn am I sad.

When they showed Naruto taking on Obito's will...shit man.

Then you had Obito and Rin finally meeting up once more? Tear-jerker.

I think this was the turning point we were waiting for. Naruto is 110% serious now and he is going to end this no matter what. He will become Hokage in Obito's stead.

Also! Did you hear the latest? Straight from Japan..more details on the Naruto movie! Cannot wait. Let's all see it together! Okay so that's asking a bit much. I hope it is amazing though it is still questionable about the haircut.

I cannot wait!!!! Though I still don't know what the fuck they are saying...I can tell it will be good.

Bleach

If you guys follow Johnny Yong Bosch or Todd Haberkorn on either Facebook or Instagram then you have probably learned that the run is coming to an end. *sad face* They have finally recorded episode 366 of the English Dub for Bleach. So many feels.

Well just because the anime is "over", doesn't mean that the story is.

A few weeks ago I had one prediction as to who would wind up showing up. No it wasn't my Grimmjow...he's still MIA. It was the fucking ARRANCAR.

Though as excited as I was that those guys showed up...Tite Kubo found a new way to royally piss me the fuck off.

Yeah, I know! Supposedly this girl brings back DEAD bodies to fight for her. Yeah DEAD. I get that he is a Soul but they have shown you can kill a soul. So WHY IS TOSHIRO HITSUGAYA A ZOMBIE???????

I am fuming and not happy. His ass better not be dead or I will lose my damn mind. I mean it just clicked the other day that two Captains have already died (Kensei and Rose)...if you forgot about it I'm right there with you. Apparently they were killed a while back when one of the buildings was blown up or something.

So needless to say. This damn series better end on a high note WITH the promise of a new anime or I am just done....

What were your thoughts on this weeks chapters? Did you find anything else that stood out to you? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter.

So that is it for this week.
See you next week with an update!

Ja ne!

xx Kat
