Hey guys! Welcome to another birthday celebration! Yes, I copied that from last year...but it's my birthday, who cares? I have so much to update you guys on and then we still have the blog post to get into! So let's get started!
First, if you guys follow me on Twitter at all you know that I have been really trying hard to study my Korean, I'll update you guys on how that is going once I get better at basic speech. I hope to one day be able to hold a conversation with someone in Korean.
Second, I am planning on doing something very special for you guys in December for our 5 year anniversary...can you believe that it has already been five years? Where has the time gone? There are so many of you now. I am curious, let me know how you guys found KAC either in the comments below or on Facebook. If you want to comment on Facebook there is a post that was published on 7/13 you can find it here and comment on this post.
Last, my timing with posting may be changing because I could usually post whenever I have a day off, however, I wanted to let you all know that on July 30th I will be starting a new job outside of the veterinary field. I have left my job at the clinic for reasons I will not share here and I have accepted a new job. So please follow me along on my new journey! I am going to try and get into a more regular posting schedule now that I have a job with set hours, so we shall see what happens, but I now work 5-6 days a week meaning I have every other Saturday off and I have every Sunday off. So I will more than likely only post on weekends which means I will work on blog posts after work every day. I'll still only post twice a month for now. I am excited for this new journey and can't wait to see where this takes me. I am even contemplating going back to school and finishing my bachelors degree probably in English. We'll see though, that is just an idea for right now.
And I think that is all the news I have for you right now! Now, let's get this blog post actually started! ㅋㅋㅋ I was going to originally just write about my favorite things again but I decided to do something a bit different. I want to talk about the blog posts that if I could go back and re-write I would. I also want to let you know about the songs that I have been really into lately. So let's get started.
Okay, I was going to go through ALL of my blog posts...but I got a year in and I wanted to start to cry T.T because 5 years of blog posts to go through is crazy! So instead, you get a few blog posts from the early years of KAC that I would rewrite today (if you want to see me rewrite one of these posts, let me know and I will do so!). The ones that I picked are some of my favorites from back then that I just don't feel like I did justice and would like the chance to redo.
1. Top Favorite Characters in Anime: this post was actually the first of the new website. When I officially transitioned to www.katsanimecorner.com from my Kat's Stories blog, I decided to start with a list of my favorite characters (at the time in 2013). I even think I still have the video in question on one of my hard-drives (I just don't know where said hard-drive is...). Obviously I would want to rewrite the post because I have new favorite characters but also...did you see my spelling errors? Yeah I make mistakes now...but the one sentence isn't even English! That's how bad I messed it up. Anyway, you can read that original post here, maybe one day I will rewrite it.
2. Favorite Opening and Ending Credits: I have actually redone this post a few times, but I think I would like to do a new one with my favorite of all-time because it has been a long time since I have been into anime and I have a lot of favorites that have stuck with me over the years. I think my biggest reason why I would want to redo it, is because of the fact that there is almost no variety in them. It is basically all Naruto and Bleach songs making it seem like that's all I watch. Which is far from true, I was just working on a lot of Naruto and Bleach at that time so it was in my head constantly. Hell, I have a few Japanese anime songs that I have in my work-out playlist right now that aren't from shows you would expect! Anyway, you can check out that original post here. Fun fact: this was the first post where I talk openly about k-pop.
3. No. 6 Anime Review: Okay, starting out, I love this anime and I feel like this anime review did NOT do the show justice. The best part about the post is that I knew when I wrote it that it was a shitty review. I would like to go back and do a full review. I am still to this day obsessed with finding out if Nezumi and Shion ever get back to one another. It was also one of my first yaoi/BL anime. 4. Talking about Fantasy Genre Anime: So pretty much if you have been following me for years, then you are well aware that my favorite genre of anime if Fantasy (which is pretty much all the anime) but I have a very specific love in the Fantasy Genre. In 2014 I decided to list off some of my favorite shows from the genre. The only problem...I didn't really talk about the shows. I want to because several of these shows are on my list of top 10 favorite anime of all time (which I am writing a blog post for...I just haven't actually finished it...the list though can be found in Japanese on my Instagram...just saying...) Anyway, you can read that pitiful list here and maybe I'll return to the fantasy genre and talk about those anime that I hold so near and dear to my heart.
5. Vampire Knight Review: If you have been following KAC since the beginning you will know that Vampire Knight was my introduction to the anime world. Yeah Sailor Moon was my first anime and rewatching Sailor Moon led to me finding Vampire Knight's anime, but Vampire Knight was the first manga I read and the first anime besides Sailor Moon that I watched. So I decided in 2014 to review the series as the manga series was slowly coming to a close. I actually feel pretty bad about this review because...I am kind of a bitch. I hate myself when I read this review because I am being a bitchy snob about the dub. Which in hindsight isn't as bad as a certain ninja's English voice...but I was pretty snobby about it. I am really sorry for the travesty that was this review. But I would like to talk about the series once again both the anime and manga because it still is one of my favorite series of all time. It holds a special place in my heart, plus has anyone besides just me been reading the Memories series? It is a continuation of the Vampire Knight manga and is giving us a look into the world we were left behind with. It also fills the gaps that were left in the 19th volume of Vampire Knight. Maybe I should write a new review. Anyway, you can read the original review here. Sorry in advance.
So there are a lot of them that I am thinking of re-writing, but for sure I would like to focus on the future and what more I can do, what different things I can do. We shall see. Please give suggestions, because I am very curious to know what you would like to see. I know that Kat's Anime Corner has kind of become Kat's K-POP Corner as of late, but I do still watch anime and write about anime, it's just that there isn't much in the anime world that has caught my attention quite like Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto, etc. If you have any anime recommendations, please let me know! I would love to check them out (note: please do not recommend My Hero Academia as I have that on my list already and just want to watch it in my own time because I had been reading the manga at one point and just have put off watching the show).
